In this gallery you can find a wider selection of photographs from my collection.
Jávea is surrounded by beautiful towns and villages and while this website will focus on Jávea it would be remiss of me not to include something of the charm and character of Moraira, Denia and the landscape and villages of the Jalon Valley.
Away from the coast the people that we meet in the quiet streets and alleyways of the sleepy villages in the mountains welcome the stranger with a friendly Hola, a welcome as warm as the heat that has been stored in the ancient stone walls for centuries.
I have also included a selection of photographs taken during my travels in the Middle East. I will add to this group from time to time.
This section also gives me the opportunity to promote two forthcoming books that I hope to have published in the near future. The long-awaited biography of Colonel Stewart Newcombe, IN THE SHADOW OF THE CRESCENT, is nearing completion. A biography of this nature needs extensive research and almost every paragraph, indeed it seems almost every sentence, needs to be qualified by contemporary documentation or first hand evidence. The travel guide to Xábia, DISCOVER XABIA, should have been easier to write although I am constantly surprised at the amount of new discoveries that continue to emerge during my ongoing research on this wonderful little town by the sea. Both of these books will appear in 2010.
