A Year in Xàbia

A Year in Xàbia

Springtime in Xàbia - The Dawn of Spain - a time of new beginnings, a time of renewal, and above all, a time for hope.

The heady aroma of orange blossom that drifts across the valleys of Xàbia in Spring brings with it the anticipation of yet another fabulous Summer.

The almond blossom that blooms at this time of year adds delicate shades of pink or white to the verdant valley and to the surrounding countryside. The soft carpet of yellow clover beneath the orange groves completes a magical image of nature that lingers long in the memory.

By late Spring the succulent cherries, the buds of May and the Dia de la Cruz herald a burst of activity throughout the town and the countryside.

Autumn seems to be a continuation of summer, with an occasional shower that freshens up the town and surrounding countryside, giving a renewed vigour to the lush Mediterranean plants and trees.

Xabia is not only a great summer destination but also an attractive winter resort due to it excellent position.

Xabia is where the sun rises on Spain and the area benefits from a year long temperate climate that is very beneficial to health, especially in the winter. Winter is thankfully brief and a major reason why so many people from the colder climates of Europe make this their permanent home.
